As discussed this is about Social / emotional learning. We are currently using the PATHS Program with several elementary schools in ECSD and we have the opportunity to scale up. This is an evidence-based
program that has been proven successful across the world.

I’m attaching a brochure that talks a bit more about the program. The reason it is called SEAK is because this was a partnership that we entered into with CMHA to get funding for implementation
– so just ignore that part.
I am sending one of the grade level alignments with outcomes from the Health and Life Skills Program of Studies and the PATHS Program. For Grade 3. It aligns very well, except teachers will need
to add in the nutrition piece and human sexuality in the upper grades.
So this is how it would look:
· All Kindergarten to Grade 3 teachers will attend 2 days
of training on Thursday, October 15 and Thursday, November 19th at St. Anthony from 8:30 – 3:00. I will cover the costs of the subs – half day for each teacher.
· I will pay for the resources for the teachers – PATHS
Program for each grade level.
Let me know if you would like to be part of this for September. There are no costs that the school will need to ensue this year.
